In an attempt to stop his mother destroying his dead brother's diary, Luke starts to write in it himself. At first he pledges not to read his brother's writing, but eventually succumbs, and begins to respond to what his brother has written, gradually bringing himself to an acceptance of his brother's death.

Interesting story. I hadn't considered the problem before - if one of two brothers dies, is the one still alive still a brother?
