Perry Mason Casebook

I've always been a big fan of the Perry Mason TV series, and knew the character was based on a series written by Erle Stanley Gardner, but had never sought out any of the reading material. I just happened to stumble upon this book and decided to buy it - but it's been on my shelf for years collecting dust. Whatever made me pull it down and open it up, I cannot say, but I can say that I'm glad I did. I really fell for the author and his characters, and altho the writing style and language was a bit old-fashioned at times, the stories really captured me and I was excited to get to the end. Typically I'm a huge fan of super-suspense, can't put it down, oh-the-danger-lurking-in-the-shadows thrillers and these books pretty much had none of that. Instead they were intellectual, offering a peek into the workings of Mason's logical mind and the detail weavings of the legal process. Pretty astounding stuff and quite intriguing. I truly enjoyed reading this book and am on the hunt for more Perry Mason casebooks.
