I enjoyed this book. Chris and his wife Ana share some interesting experiences as they make a home and a working farm in El Valero.

I apparently missed this was a BX book, or I just missed journaling it when it arrived. Since I now have a newborn, I'm catching up on some of my backlog of Mt. TBR (what else is there to do when you're nursing at 3am but read?)
This was a mildly amusing look at an English couple who moved to a farm in rural Spain. The other inhabitants are well described and portrayed.
That said, I wasn't really pulled into the book. I didn't find the author that appealing of a narrator and I didn't feel like I got to know any of the other characters. It was more of a play-by-play than a nicely wove tale. It wasn't bad, but I didn't feel like I'd been on their farm or actually met any of the various people or even had a sense for what they went through. There was nothing bad, there just wasn't anything compelling either.
