Very enjoyable and fun, turning the whole convention of mystery novels onto its collective ear. At the same time, it enjoys the vanity of playing off a different riff from the ever more popular Thursday Next series.
I especially enjoyed the guest appearance of Caliban and Dorian Grey. I wonder tho... if Goldilocks fled the house without a word, how did they all know that one bowl of porridge was too hot, another too cold and one was Just Right? It's probably a small thing when you have to accept aliens and killer cookies (or is it a Killer Cake?), but you know... that's the kind of thing that bothers me.
