Borrowed this book from a friend recently - turns out we had it on our shelf all the time!

A really really good read! You have to admire an author who can bring mathematics to life, especially considering that the subject in this case is a problem whose solution is way too complicated for pretty much anyone but specialist mathematicians to understand. Singh delves into history to explain where Fermat's last theorem comes from, and who the people were who helped to bring the final proof together. One of the best science books I've ever read.

This is a really nice hardback edition.

Delighted and intrigued to find this book on my table whilst performing my puppet show at an event in Cambridge. I already own a copy, but haven't read it for a while, so I shall skim it again and release it fairly quickly - possibly at my next show!

A great story of triumph over challenges, but inherently frustrating because 99% of us will never understand a fraction of the proof discussed. There are many tantalising glimpses of genius along the way, and it IS an entertaining read... but getting the balance right between story and mathematical content is another insoluble problem!
