Having had a massive clearout of books, I'll be releasing about 25 books in York on Tuesday. I have no idea where I'll put them, just wherever I decide on the day.

Husband brought this home for me after finding it at work at the NRM. Not sure if it will be my kind of book - though not sure what that is exactly!
Have just started reading a different book so it will be a while before I tackle this one.

What a surprise - I really enjoyed reading this book. As far as I can recall I have not read a historical novel before and to be honest I don't think I would've selected such a book especially one about the Danish invasion of the 9th century, but how wrong I have been to dismiss the idea all these years. From the first page it had me interested and drew me in to the story. The author obviously knows his history and has created a wonderful and imaginative story of Uhtred - a young English boy who was taken care by the Danes.

I am now looking for the sequel!
