Lorenzo Smythe is an actor, destined for mediocrity. But then he is forced into an impersonation job on which peace with Mars depends. And he finds out it isn't so easy to let go as he thought.
This is maybe the best Heinlein I've read. It's mostly about politics, and that's something Heinlein could write well about. Lorenzo is a bit of an archetype, The Man Who Learned Better, but he's still a pleasant viewpoint character. Like many Heinlein books, this too suffers from the protagonists being know-it-alls who are always right and always agree, usually by out-quipping each other, and antagonists who are incompetent and turn spluttery when their plans fail.

Came with me home from the meeting, thanks VariC for taking it there and for offering it on the forum!
Oh no, seem I forgot to journal when I finished reading the book. Loved reading the book, like most SF anyway. Will get the book moving soon towards an SF-gettogether in Finland!
