Good novel. Reminds me of some of James Mitchner's novels

Book came in todays mail, thanks! I plan on first offering it to a friend to read (as I know she's out of good reading material at the moment) and then in a week I'll have it back to read myself.

Many, many thanks for the trade!

Got book back from my friend yesterday and said it was absolutely wonderful ... and she thanked me profusely for letting her read it before I did! I've got a book and a half left to read before I can get to it so I'll let you know in a week or so what my thoughts are.

Once again thanks for the trade.

Another wonderful historical fiction by a fantastic author. I loved Brooks way of taking the reader from current day back to the past to see how the people holding the book at that time left their mark. Readers will learn about Jewish history and customs through the 500 year travels of a little book named the Sarajevo Haggadah. Amazing story about how this priceless little book was saved numerous times throughout history in essence to preserve the Jewish story. The reader will come towards the end and marvel how the pieces of the story fit together. Loved Hanna's little touch with the seed at the end also.

Wouldn't it be great to once again see Arabic-speaking Jews mixing freely with their Muslim and Christian neighbors?

Many, many thanks for the trade!

**anyone wanting more of Brooks be sure to read March and Year of Wonders, both great works of historical fiction also.
