Thanks Jillbe. I picked this up from the sorting office this morning. It might be a few months before it gets read, but I'll get there in the end!
Great book. It plugs up its plot holes with a gauze of erotic exotic-ness. When people asked me what the book was about, I only had to get the words out "It follows the story of a high-class prostitute and her dwarf in rennaissance Venice" for people to be interested...
I really liked the concept of this novel, and the characters were very well drawn. Things got a little strange towards the end of the book, but I'd been swept up by the 'anything goes' atmosphere by that point so have no complaints about it. The book's cover was lovely as well.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
This is the second Sarah Dunant I've read, and it is very well researched and very engrossing. Interesting that Dunant consulted Tom Shakespeare for the character of Bucino, who holds this story together and emerges as a very powerful narrator. 16th century Venice was not very nice really, was it?

Been wanting to read this one for a while ...glad to find it at last night's meet up.
I´ve got the book yesterday at the local bookcrossing event. I hope it´s a nice to read historic novel.
