I am a great fan of Bill Bryson and hugely interested in the English language and its development so I am looking forward so much to reading this that I may well sneak it off Mt TBR a lot sooner than my usual "first in first out" approach would dictate.

As it happens, quite unintentionally this did get read a good deal sooner than it might otherwise have done. I needed a book in a hurry and was scrabbling in the box under the shelf (for such is Mt TBR!) in the semi-darkness (don't ask!), felt this between my fingers and thought "That'll do" and was well pleased when I discovered what it was!

All the while I was reading it I had the distinct impression I had read it before but I don't know when and it didn't spoil my enjoyment of it in the least. It's an extremely entertaining and educational book. Bill Bryson has a great knack for imparting information in a highly amusing way and there are many laughs here.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

What a lovely surprise, Jalna, thank you! I'm ploughing my way through another RABCK at the moment, don't have as much time for reading now I'm back at work full time, but I'm gonna be into this real soon! Bill Bryson has a great sense of humour and is always entertaining!
