However, with the appearance of classmate, Iwazaki, Ken’s dark past starts to unravel as well as his fragile new relationship with Ritsuro. Will Ritsuro be able to accept Ken’s dark past? What will he do when Ken decides to escape his past by leaving him behind in Japan and traveling to Singapore with his mother?

More issues arise between Ken and Ritsuro during a class trip and when old friends haunt them. The pacing isn't too fast either, but I hope the third volume gets more into Ken's family and his parents.
Thanks a lot laevina for the second part of the story!
Had been looking forward to this book already, now I can see how it continues ;-)
Will check here to see who the next one is in the ring!

Loved the continuation - the relation deepens as it goes on, and you understand the main persons better after this book. The end is quite dramatic, with all kind of tragic things happening and then still the departure of one of them :-(
Was hard not to continue right away with the third part!

Yes, this arrived fast enough :-)) Thanks hippolein for posting the books to me, and laevina for once again including me in the rings!
In vol. 1 the conflict was one of frienship vs. love, and here we have love vs. committed relationship. Ritsuro seems to know the difference, it's still Ken who's trying to figure it all out...
In terms of the artwork, Ken seems to have grown up from vol. 1, while Ritsuro in the first pages of vol. 2 I confused with the almost-girlfriend Moeko.

On its way back home to laevina's bookshelf.

A "masterpiece of early yaoi," eh? Sounds interesting! I'm taking these three well-traveled volumes (listed below) from k00kaburra's Manga bookbox. Many thanks!
Volume One
Volume Two
Volume Three
Later: I also picked up the last two volumes so I could read the whole set:
Volume Four

[Sorry it's been so long - I read the book not long after I got it, but it went into my to-be-reviewed pile until I could finish the series, and I only got around to the last two volumes recently!]
Here, Moeko finally figures out that Ken and Ritsuro are an item, and there's no room for her as other than a friend. And Ken confesses a guilty secret to Ritsuro, one he shares with the sinister Kazuyoshi, leading to more revelations about his past, with a very tragic outcome for another young man. And then there's a nightmarish episode for poor Ken, who - however much of an irresponsible jerk he can be, did not deserve THAT...
Despite the horrifying events, it looks as though Ken and Ritsuro are beginning to trust each other. Will it hold up once they're apart?

I'm sending this set of five books out on a bookray (see the forum thread here); they'll be on their way to the first stop, with BCer BMVCOE in Maryland, today. (I'd like the last person on the list to offer the books in the forums again, but if there are no takers, the books can be released as the holder desires.) Hope future readers enjoy them!
The mailing order is in the journal entry of Volume One, here.

Caught in the mail from GoryDetails!
All sorts of drama in this installment, from Kazuyoshi hitting on Ritsuro (and Ritsuro's subsequent discovery of Kazuyoshi's family trouble) to the assault on Ken (which I have conflicted feelings about, as Ken's emotional response seems less severe than one might expect).
Sending on to HI77!

This volume had a lot of the typical devices of throwing human speed bumps at the would be lovers.
It gets a bit dull if they don't flesh the obstacles with a solid personality first, but we just don't get enough development here. The story is still a bit shallow at this point.
Well, as this is part of a bookring, this book is now sent off to the next person! :)

Dark. I enjoyed Ritsuro straightening out his relationship with the ex-girlfriend and his almost brother. Very disturbed by Ken being assaulted and his non-reaction.
Sent off to Hawaii. Enjoy!

Received today with thanks. Life is a bit hectic at the moment but I'll get to these as soon as I can.
Wow, Ken is really trying for the antihero slot here. I'm glad my life has never gotten that complicated..not sure why his experiences don't affect him more strongly but I wonder about his self-image.
Ken, Ritsuro, and their tangled web of friends, family, and acquaintances are headed off on a new adventure..to Florida.
Book is here. Probably won't be able to get to this series for a month or so, life is rough, but it looks like Tsjara doesn't have too long to wait.
Either the artist has improved or I am getting used to her style, but the story kind of grows on me by now. The faces of the characters still seem to lengthen or shorten once in a while though, but not as much as in vol 1 where I thought they are age-changing like some magical girl manga...
Ritsuro and Ken seems to be together now, but Ken's messy past keeps catching up with him and prevent them from enjoying a relationship.
And why does it look like ALL men are into men - except the teacher? I mean, if it were a bachelor party... it's unlike the guys would enjoy gang raping a guy... well I'm not a guy but from what I know from the guys I know...

The books have safely arrived in the Netherlands. Thanks so much Azuki for sending them all the way from Hong Kong (and for the 3 extra wishlist books too!!)
Looking forward to read these, it's been a while since I have read any manga.
Thanks GoryDetails for hosting the (new) bookray and laevina for sharing the books. :D

Couldn't put this one down either, lots of drama again. Ritsuro discovers some of Ken's dark secrets and his connection with Iwasaki, who isn't as bad as he seemed to be. It was cute how Ritsuro kept calling Ken on the phone and running out of cards (no cell phones yet :P) when he was on a school trip in Okinawa. Looks like the teacher has a bit of a crush on Moeko. And Ken gets into some serious trouble and then goes off to Singapore with his mother.. how will it continue?
The books are on their way to okyrhoe. Enjoy! :)
