RELEASE NOTES:
Taking to the Ipswich meet.
I picked this up at a Bookcrossing get-together yesterday (books, friends AND tiramisu... how much better can it get?!) The title appealed to me and so did the blurb, so I slipped it in the bag I had vowed would be returning home empty. "Wildly exuberant, funny, edgey"... the cover made it sound irresistable... but I see that Marmite only gave it 3 out of ten. Hmmm. I'll still give it a go, but I must admit to feeling slightly less excited at the prospect!
This is one of those love-it-or-hate-it kind of books. It made me feel positively voyeuristic; seeing endless disasters befall the hapless losers as they try so desperately to travel the world in one week and give away $80 grand in the process. The fact that the whole plan is doomed from the start makes it all the more watchable. Just how stupid can these guys get? Will they end up dead in a ditch? In order to find out, I read the book in just a few days. A strange but compelling experience. I'll be looking out for more by Mr Eggers.

Oh my. Second book to arrive from the sweestake. Thanks very much, I have quite a big TBR pile at the moment, so I think I'll pass this onto Cassiopea's OBCZ.

Thanks for this one Geoff. It's very tempting, I'm adding it to the OBCZ books but may, if I have the chance, read it before releasing.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I tried reading this, but just couldn't get into it at all. I have left it on a wild release walk here in Chepstow. Please journal it if you are able so others can follow its journey. When you have read it, you can wild release it yourself, leave it in Chepstow Coffee#1s shelf, pass to a friend or keep it.
Enjoy!
I found the book on the 16th of December in the Bandstand by the River Wye which is outside my house. I was having a quick stroll before going out to Bristol. It made me super happy and was a surprise as I heard of this thing being done with music cassettes before but not books.
