RELEASE NOTES:
Picked this up at wellington monthly bc meetup last week.
When I started to read this I expected it to be well written but not necessarily one that I'd "enjoy" reading. Turned out that I was very wrong - not on the well written but on the enjoyment of reading. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel (short, less than 200 pages) and I'm not too sure why. Definitely a dysfunctional and damaged family but maybe it was the small number of characters and keeping to the point made this a joy to read. I don't think that you see too many books of this length any more... maybe that's a pity? Anyway if I had to find a flaw I'd say that it's possibly in something that occurs at the end.. but then again maybe not, it is left open... Anyway I would definitely recommend this novel. Read it, it's great :)

I picked this up at the Wellington meet-up. I've long wanted to read something by Iris Murdoch, and this book is perfect for slipping inside my travel bag. I'm going to release it somewhere in Asia along the way once I've read it.
