I thought this was an entertaining read, although I sometimes felt that contemporary values and interpretations were being attributed to people who likely wouldn't have thought that way.

What a fantastic read! It had been a long time since I enjoyed reading a historical so much and once I started reading the book I simply couldn't put it down:) I loved the way all the characters came alive and felt like I was actually living the story with them (but I'm so glad I didn't!). I'd love to see the film adaptation of the book, and whether it's as good as the book, but I doubt it;-) I think this is simply the best historical novel I've ever read, thank you so much for sharing it with us Tori58:)

Amazing! One of the best books I have read this year (and maybe even one of the best ever; hmm, I might be too hooked on historical fiction at the moment.. he he). And it was just right on time after The Constant Princess. It's amazing how the author doesn't pay too much attention for description of characters, but from all they say, all they do and how they do it's so easy to visualise them, as if you were in the same court together with them. As chich said, I am glad I didn't live the story with them though! :)
I didn't see the movie yet, and although I have heard that it's not as good as the book, I'm really looking forward to see it.

2 pkgs came in the mail today both from the same sender, thanks v much Voveryte.
This will be my 2nd book by this author, the first I didn't like. If I like this better, I'll go get the movies and watch too.

Wow, it's a long read, but really enjoyable, and definitely so much better than the only other one I've read by the same author The Little House. I didn't know anything about this piece of history, only after reading this book. Wonder was Anne really so tyrannical and irrationally hot-tempered in real life like how history depicts her? I'm going to get the movie to watch, and see how Natalie played the hot-headed Anne. Think if there was any anger mgmt course during those times, she really should go sign up for one.
Thanks Tori for sharing this historial read. On its way to the next reader (Sent Oct 30th). I'll update again on what I think of the film adaptation.

I absolutely loved this book! It was a gripping read from beginning to end. I like Mary as a character because you can see her grow more mature throughout the book and how she comes to see the folly of the court. Anne is a deliciously hateful character, yet at the same time you pity and admire her for her resolve. King Henry is hateful too, there is nothing likable about him. It is also a great insight into how life was for the women of the times, and how confined and obedient they had to be. Loved this book!
Sending onto herchelle once I have the address!

I loved it! I have never read anything on Mary Boleyn, or much on that era, and I thoughoughly enjoyed it. I was reading it before bed, when I got up, waiting for my kids to get out of school, any chance I got. Thank you everyone for letting me be a part of this bookring. I will be emailing the next in the ring.
Leaving Alberta tonight...sorry for the llllooooonnnngggg delay. I am also adding a belated Christmas present. Enjoy!

This book came in a cute little box of surprises. Thank you so much for the sweet little Christmas book, the lovely bookplates, and the hilarious bookmark.
A very well-written, gripping book! This one kept me up way too late at night because it was almost impossible to put down. I was glad that I wasn't aware of all the historical details so that I didn't know what might happen next. I love historical fiction, and this has to be one of the very finest.

Incredibly long, tremendously entertaining. I read Robin Maxwell's "Mademoiselle Boleyn" last year as part of the author challenge and developed a bit of an addiction to the Boleyn sisters and this time period. This book did not disappoint and now I want to read the other books by this author! I am anxious to see the movie even though I know it won't be as good as the book (they rarely are). Thanks to tori58 for sharing. I have BecksterCA's address already and will have it in the mail soon.
