After all the hype about this book I thought it would be a let-down, but it wasn't. Although it all centres around the events of one day, the consequences of that day are explored in a moving and unusual manner, following the lives of the three main characters and the other people touched by their mistakes.
Although I'm not usually a big fan of film adaptations, this one has been done very well. Read the book first though.
Finally, do not make the same mistake I did: the language on just a couple of pages is such that you do not want to be reading it when someone is looking over your shoulder. Be careful when reading this book on the train!
