Wanted a collection of short stories to nibble on the bus. It contains a short story, Butterflies, that is a masterclass in misdirection. Years later, I met Ian McEwan at a book festival. I told him it was my favourite, and he said, 'It's the darkest thing I ever wrote.' :)
