What an utter treasure of a book. I just loved this one of Michael Connelly's. Though I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get around to reading this one, I liked it so much I feel I want to find a copy for myself and keep it! I've had this kept as a treat and it proved to be just that. Sorry it is done!
A mix of several of his characters interacting in the same book, in the throes of two stories nudging each other gently along. Although this is billed as a Harry Bosch book, it is in fact Terry McCaleb who is the 'lead' character in most senses with Harry taking a lead role in the second court action story and as a suspect in the main story plot. Neatly interwoven story lines act and react with each other throughout the book and the ending leaves both Terry and Harry bruised but not beaten. There is a faint hint of manipulation by Bosch to reach the desired outcome but in general the detectives bounce well off each other.
The writing is as usual, brisk and to the point, swiftly moving from scene to well described scene and plot line twisting and turning throughout.
I'll make this available just now but may RABCK it for another crime fan.

Apologies. After I'd parcelled it all up I realised that I'd left the postcard out! At least, it won't spoil your enjoyment of the book.

I really enjoyed this book! It's one of the best 'Harry Bosch' novels I've read so far, helped along by the fact that I'm also an Heironymus Bosch fan. I had fun Googling the images they talk about and renewing my interest in the artist.
