A beautifully written but harrowing and frustrating story - and true to life, I'm afraid. This is a thin book (a novella), but definitely not light reading.

I agree with Annimanni - beautifully written, but frustrating and harrowing. It is told in wonderful poetic prose, which stands in such a contrast to the brutal violence that Abigail is confronted with, violence that is constantly understated and often only slightly indicated.

A story worth reading. It took a little bit to get into the style of how this was writen, but I think the style added to the story.
