The Bean Trees
1 journaler for this copy...
I loved Kingsolver's 'The Poisonwood Bible' and tried so long to get my hands on a copy of 'Prodigal Summer' (which I recently finished, thanks to a bookswap with ratmammy.) After devouring the copy of P-Summer I was so hungry for more of her work, I bought 'The Bean Trees'.
I can't say that I liked this one as much as Poisonwood or P-Summer, but it was still pretty good. I don't know specifically what it was about this one and why I didn't like it as much. It was still a pretty good read and I guess I had high expectations after the reading her other ones. There's always her other work, "Pigs in Heaven"!
