This is descibed as Fiction on the cover.

"1291 AD, Acre. As the city burns under the onslaught of the Sultan's men, the Falcon Temple sets sail, carying a small band of knights and a mysterious chest entrustes to them by the Order's Grand Master. The ship vanishes without a trace...

Present-day New York. At the Metropolitan Museum, four horsemen dressed as Knights Templar storm the gala opening of an exhibition of Vatican treasures and, in a brutal and bloody attack, steal an arcane medieval decoder.

For FBI agent Sean Reilly and Tess Chaykin, this is just the start of a deadly game of cat and mouse as they race across three continents, trying to stay one step ahead of ruthless killers while chasing down a centuries-old mystery .....".

The story itself is rather intriguing and the action is all out and furious running throughout the book. Unfortunately, to my mind, for the purposes of the plot the main female character is set up as a brilliant thinker in her own field, idealistic and completely unrealistically illogically risky in her moves. Despite the lack of reality in Tess's character and the sketchiness of Sean's character the plot rattles through the pages. The style of writing switches from differing time zones and character to character to pull the plot forward whilst explaining the complex theory behind the main premise of the book. The author's screenwriting background is obvious from the lack of depth but showy events running through the dramatic scenarios. It would be easy to convert to the silver screen.

For me, the ending was the weak point of the book and does not stand up to scrutiny of the characters (such as they are portrayed).

I intend to try and release this book over the Easter break.
