A really easy but good read about this controvrsial serial killer, the media where shocked at her crimes as she was a women. I whizzed through this in a couple of hours.

update 20th april 08

5 out of 5
Finished reading last night. What can i say it was a very engaging read i did enjoy it (if that is the correct word).
It was tough to read with all the details of the murders. I particularly found the EXECUTION chapter very difficult to read and had to put down a number of times. I think the book took no sides which was good and included psycological facts rather that just focusing on the crimes and glamoursing them.
I din't realise some corrupt police and detectives profited from the story before it was all told. I am also dissappointed that tyria moore was not tried and also profited from the movie. I did enjoy the movie but now i know the facts of who got money i have lost total respect for what the movie claimed to portray.

overall a very good, disturbing and quick read. i shall pm the next person on the list.

I finished reading Monster last night. What can I say ? I would propably never have read it without BC (so thank you katrinat), and it was the first book of that kind that I ever read. I wouldn't recommend it to someone depressed, for sure... Like cambridgelass I found it quite hard to read sometimes. I had "enjoyed" the film, but this book added insights in subjects untreated in the movie (like psychological background, police shortcomings and business surrounding the story...)

It was sent to bibounde today.

Monster arrived unexpectedly at last...
Thanks, bibounde and thanks for the ray, katrinat :)

It looks really interesting and I would like to start it right away. But there are other rings I currently need to read and as well Schätzing's Swarm... which is not really thin... ;)

So - apologies in the beginning since it will take me a little longer... please let me know if it gets too long!

.. to be continued

Not as good as I expected. I didn't really liked the style it was written in and what got interesting was what was already known.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Comes with me to the meet-up ... and if no-one is interested... it will go into the OBCZ
