The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi; orginally published in book form in 1880; 221 pps
The English translation of the original stories from which Disney's movie was drawn. Clearly directed to children - especially misbehaving ones - but a little darker than the Disneyfied version. A number of irritating editing/typo mistakes in this version.
Travels thus far: this edition dates from 1968; don't know where it's been all this time, but it has been through at least one used book store judging by the "1.00" pencilled in on the first page. I picked up from a PA Goodwill, and will return there shortly.
