I don't know why I read this so soon after Elizabeth Noble's 'The Reading Group'..since they are essentially the same book... one American, one British. I still liked it though! The Great Gatsby ruined "wealthy" characters for me. It is one of my least favorite books I've read. So I didn't really like the wealthy slant to 'Summer Reading', since I could care less about characters getting plastic surgery but then they started making fun of plastic surgery... a little bit. I didn't get the ending though. This was an advance reading copy and I really loved that there weren't many typos! Then again I haven't read many advance reading copies. I guess I can take any "personal" sort of chick lit type novels just as long as it also discusses books!

Received from Cinnycat as part of a trade. Thanks a bunch! My TBR pile has grown a bit in the past few weeks, but I hope to read this soon and pass it on.

I found the ending (or non-ending) so bizarre, and cinnycat, now that I've come back here to journal it, I'm glad to see it looks like you felt the same way! It's a shame, too, because I really did want to see where some of these characters were heading!

I'm going to see if I can pass this along in a relay or a trade.

Well, I was hoping for a better ending...more closure. But I did enjoy reading it. I liked how the chapters alternated between the three main characters, and their perspectives. I was hoping they would all come together, despite their differences, and truly become friends. Would've liked the book to be a little bit longer, to get more information on what happened next.
