Dear John

Decent story. I liked but didn't love the characters. It was somewhat predictable, but not in a bad way. I found myself begging the author to show not tell. I wanted more dialogue. I found myself skimming and not quite sucked into the story in a lot of places. I liked the sub plot with John's father very much. That part of the part lived.

RELEASE NOTES:
After picking up the book during downtime in the Green Room of the Village Players of Hatboro, I expected some sappy love story like The Notebook or A Walk to Remember (movies that made my friends cry).
Yes, this book did make me cry, and it seemed unrealistic at points, but for the most part I really could feel the emotions that the main character John was experiencing. John and Savannah's relationship seemed like that of Shane West's and Mandy Moore's characters in the film adaptation of A Walk to Remember (no, I haven't read the book...yet!).
I'm glad I read it. As I sat typing this, a student next to me noticed the book and is eager to read it soon. Off it goes to another part of the DeSales University campus!
