I picked this up whilst looking for a book for someonelse, I 'm not quite sure why?
But I enjoyed it immensely. I love the writers use of words and wide vocabulary. The story itself was bizarre, moving and sad at times that he couldn't accept his blindness and was too 'scared' to tell others of his disability.
Thankfully although there is still humungous amounts of prejudice around, awareness and support is improving. Huge strides in technical reading aids etc have been made which would have made Stephen's life radically different..
The section about Guiding Eyes training and learning how to work with a dog was fascinating and Stephen meeting his dog reduced me to tears.
Lyrical and poetic I loved this and will put it in reserved until I can best work out how to keep this moving.
I have not had any takers at my bookgroups and decided I wanted to read it again so moving it to PC but will be available if anyone wants to read it.
