A small book in very easy English about the famous "Canterville Ghost" (which is the junior play at Haywood School in our English book at school!)

From the back cover:
A funny and touching story about the American family Otis, who move into an old English castle where a ghost has walked for three hundred years.
But the Otises are not afraid of the ghost. On the contrary, it soon becomes the other way round. When the ghost howls arount the castle at night, Mr Otis gives him oil for his chains and Mrs Otis offers him medicine. The smaller children play tricks on him and frighten him.
Only the kind-hearted, fifteen year old Virginia Otis feels sorry for the poor ghost, and through her innocence and courage she is able to help him to eternal rest.

I read it very quickly and with the help of all the pictures and annotations I think my pupils will be able to understand the story, too. Maybe someone wants to read it, because it's the topic of the next unit in our English book (the pupils of Haywood school are rehearsing this as their junior play.) It will be in our school crossing zone.
