Schmalz-Attacke!

Der Plan war einfach: zusammenbleiben, ein Leben lang. Doch nun ist Gerry tot. Gehirntumor. Und Holly, erst 29, bleibt alleine zurück. Wie soll sie nun weitermachen? Alles scheint zu Ende. Da taucht ein Paket mit Briefen auf: von Gerry, geschrieben in seinen letzten Lebenstagen, für Holly, für die nächsten Monate. "Werde Karaoke-Queen, Holly! Suche Dir endlich einen interessanten Job, Holly! Greif nach den Sternen, Holly! Und PS: Ich liebe Dich!". Holly lacht, weint, und tut, was Gerry schreibt: sie lernt, wer ihre wahren Freunde sind. Sie lernt, sich ein wenig neu zu verlieben und macht mit jedem Brief einen Schritt in ein neues Leben und in neues Glück.

Bin gerade erst über die hundertste Seite weg, kann aber jetzt schon sagen, dass es wohl das schlechteste Buch ist (nach Diana Gabaldon bestenfalls), das ich je gelesen habe... Stilistisch schwach, sprachlich unglaublich arm... Unterirrdisch!

this book looked at me, sitting on a bench at the train station "baumwall" where I went to work that day. it immediately catched my eye but I passed by it along with a bunch of other people more or less rushing to work. on my way downstairs I turned around and went back following my desire to take the book with me and read it, as I had alread read a little short story taken out of this book and heard from a friend that she has just received it for christmas. furthermore, the movie just started in our local cinemas. I wanted to be involved in a story full of emotions, friendship, family, love - life! ...and it was worth it, I am almos through and cried a lot of tears and laughed out loud no matter where I was at that moment of time... either I will give it to a good friend or just leave it out where I do sports! easy to read, for romantics of the simple kind! thanks!
