Very entertaining read! This isn't an in-depth study-- instead, Bryson keeps the reader's attention by touching on an amazing lot of different topics pertaining to the English language. Got the feeling Bryson was right on some facts and wrong on others, but I really enjoyed his lighthearted tone, honest look at grammar and grammarians, and overall enjoyment of English and it's quirks. On the whole it's a fun introduction, and it whet my appetite for more English language history
