I'm not a 30-something woman from Manchester, I've not tragically lost a parent at a young age, I've not been abused or seen abuse first-hand, I don't normally read biographies, so why should this book resonate so much? I suppose some of us (all of us?) have read books by torchlight under the bedcovers, felt somehow different amongst schoolfriends, triumphed over some adversity, however small? This is a sad, raw book, but readable and ultimately has a great big, smiling on the train, feel-good factor. The author did survive, and has prospered. Better than a shed-load of self-help books, as Lewis Carroll might have said, 'read me!'

Released on Friday, March 14, 2003 at A friend's house in Grundisburgh in Woodbridge, Suffolk United Kingdom.

Less a release, more a passing-on to a new keeper
