Read this last month for our Murdoch challenge - we're reading them in publication order, and discussing.

I really enjoyed this, and can quite see why it won the Booker in 1978. Full of Murdochian themes (water is one, so the title says it all!).

I'm letting this go beacuse I want to find a really nice copy for my PC.

Picked up at the meetup, I've read quite a few of Murdoch's so far. I have two other of Murdoch's in front of it, and so it may be a while until I get to it.

Journal Entry 5 by Samrana at Birmingham, West Midlands United Kingdom on Sunday, October 24, 2010
One of Murdoch's best so far in my view. After reading a few I think I am in the 'Murdoch Zone' if there is such a place, and feel like I am getting the hang of being able to picture the many characters that appear - both the ones that are 'active' in the narrative and those that are just referred to by the narrator. Charles himself appeared in my minds eye to physically resemble 'Michael Winner' and once thought, wouldn't go away!
