Excellent memory book about childhood in extreme poverty. The descriptions are very lively and one feels absolute empathy with the main character, his discoveries, his vision of the world (religion, jobs, alcohol), his opinion on Limerick, his dream about the United States, and his awakening to adult life seen from the eyes of the child that he still was.
