Another excellent Anne Tyler about the typical American family. Insightful yet not disrespectful, no one matches Tyler's understanding of who we are; Americans with foibles who are lovable and wonderful regardless.

This book was so boring and all of the characters so loathsome that I kept hoping a serial killer would pop in to liven things up a little.
Sad to say that that never happened.
