This was recommended to me by a lecturer with a way about him...I like being told about books to read..its sort of random with purpose.
It moved me...it made me think of growing up in East Anglia...a knowing without nostalgia. I liked the sense of isolation and separateness which is all the more evident at times in your life when things are changing or on the verge of being soemthing very different..the holding together and confirming of what matters to you. It made me think of pictures.
THen I saw the film which wasn't a dissapointment.
I've read more of him...another thing I like a book to do - to push towards the next book.
