The Zahir is a novel of love, longing and obsession.
One day an author finds his wife has disappeared, maybe kidnapped. His search for her takes him across the world’s hot spots and trouble zones. His search is not only a geographical search, it is also a spiritual search, questioning his own existence.
My first contact with Paulo Coelho, was a lovely Lithuanian girl reading The Zahir. We had an interesting conversation, and she recommended that I read The Zahir. [see Synchronicity and Paulo Coelho]
Since then I have read several novels by Paulo including The Alchemist, Veronika Decides to Die, The Valkyries, but have not yet read The Zahir.
