The American Way of Death

This is an excellent, but somewhat dated (1963) book on the American funeral industry's push for profits over care. If anything, it's probably worse now.

A mildly interesting if wildly outdated look at the shady dealings in the American funeral industry. If written in more modern times, I could see Mitford as another Mary Roach, but being 55 years old, I guess wit and why humour were a different beast when this was written. Glad I read it, nonetheless. Thanks for sharing it with me!
