Preludes and Nocturnes (Sandman, Book 1)
5 journalers for this copy...
Finally got around to registering this one, even though I've had it since last fall and haven't read it yet.
Offered on the "graphic novels & manga" bookrelay. I will be able to mail it in a few days, after I finish reading it.

Really the first graphic novel I have ever read, I was a bit hesitant at first to read "comic books" but I really enjoyed this one. Gaiman's writing really shines through and hopefully I'll be able to find more of this series eventually. I did buy this one new, but at nearly $20 each I don't think I'll be buying the rest of the series too quickly :)
Release planned for Monday, March 15, 2004 at N/A in n/a, n/a Controlled Releases.
As soon as my husband sees this, it'll be history. He's been stealing all my graphics and then buying the rest of the series -- and NOT sharing ANY of it with me. The nerve!
Anyway, there's so much good stuff on the graphic novel/manga relay that I doubt this will be here long enough for him to sniff it out.

Being a Neil Gaiman fan, I had been wanting to start this series for some time. This first volume did not disappoint. The artwork took some getting used to for me since I read more manga, but the story was captivating right from the start.
Will be releasing back to the book relays.

It's here, it's here! I've read this one before, but I had to give it back before I was actually finished with it.
I enjoy most of this book. I didn't much like the cafe scene--too gorey/icky violent for my tastes.
But I love the section at the end with Death. One of the reasons I really wanted to get my hands on this book was to scan a couple of the pages--the poem about Death, to print out and put on my wall.
Now, to finish moving so I can get my scanner set up again....

Packing up to move, I discovered I have two copies of this now.
So, of course, I had to reread it as I packed it. But this copy will be continuing its journey to somewhere. Not sure where yet, but somewhere.

Got this in the mail Friday. Thanks for offering on the relays, Kayote! Looking forward to reading this. I've never read a Sandman book before, but have heard a lot about them. Thanks again!
