I found this book difficult to get into as there were so many characters involved. It may not have helped that I started reading on a long flight back from China when I was already tired, but it still remains one of the few books I never finished reading. Many of my friends thoroughly enjoyed it though!

Costa Coffee booksehelf

Picked this up from the Nottingham meet up today. I have read alot of mixed reviews about this book so it will interesting to see if it lives up to certain expectations! Thanks for giving me the chance to read it.

Actually I didn't think the book was that bad. It was a mix between a Barbara Erskine type novel and a Dan Brown. I preferred to read the story when it was focussed on the events of the past (early 13th century) rather than the present day of 2005. It was more of an adventure type story rather than anything to do with historical fact. And I am sure Simon de Montford was hacked to death in a battle at Evesham and not in the country where the author states he died (can't remember where she said) or how he died. That bit didn't impress me!

Picked this up at the Loughborough meet-up today, I have actually had a copy before but gave it to waderwoman to read. Will have a go and see if I like it. Lovely to meet you in person MoJeDenUK!
