This book was very generously sent to me by fotomiep along with a gift of some gorgeous handmade magnetic bookmarks. I am very grateful for the bookmarks but upset about the book as I can't cope with the reading material I already have to hand. It seems that no matter how often you ask, cajole, demand that people don't send you books, they ignore you and send them anyway. So thanks again for the bookmarks which I will really enjoy but no thanks for the book :)

While reading this slim exerpt, I was completely unsure of whether this was fiction or non. I've come down on the side of 'fictional non' in that it is a little of both perhaps? I guess some investigation online would solve my mystery hah hah.

Anyway, I found the prose rather difficult to wade through and suspect this might be because the book is a translation into English. It is my great failing on this planet that I never seem to able to gel with translated works (such as Marquez, Yoshimoto and others).

I hope this book finds a much more appreciative and suitable reader somewhere along it's travels and thanks for the opportunity to spend some time amongst its pages.

I handed this book to a cyclist on the towpath as I pulled my houseboat up to the waterpoint. She was asking many questions about Narrowboat living and foolishly also mentioned how many books she had. I thought that she sounded like perfect Bookcrossing material.
