It's hard to say that I enjoyed this book. I loved the characters, their realness and flaws and I rooted for most of them. I loved the way the plot jumped back and forth between the pre war and war years.

But the subject itself was heart-wrenching and vivid. An absorbing tale of a war I knew nothing about.

It's taken me far too long to journal this wonderful book and now I can't remember all the details of why I enjoyed it so much, that'll teach me not to make JE's as soon as I finish a book.

I do remember it being sad and shocking but I loved the characters, I also learned quite abit about the history of Biafra and Nigeria. Thanks again to perfect-circle for sending me this great read.
