I found a copy of this at my local library booksale, which is great because I desperately want to reread it.

I signed up for a bookring for this, but didn't get around to reading Lolita or Invitation to a Beheading before I got the book. I loved Reading Lolita in Tehran, but knew I would have been even better if I took the time to read those two books first and then went back and reread this book. I was determined to get my own copy of Reading Lolita for future reading after I sent my bookring off, and somehow in my zeal I purchased two copies. This is a wonderful book, especially if you have read Lolita.
I am slipping this into KimKerry's Don't Even Think About It Bookbox. I don't see it on anyone's wishlist, but if you haven't read it, you might want to.

Received this book in the Don't Even Think About It Box. I am sure this is a good book, I plan to pass it along.

Snagging this one out of KimKerry's bookbox, and I will take Bluestocking88's advice, and hunt down a copy of Lolita before I read this one ;-)
I feel like it took me forever to read this book. It was slow going, but I wanted to finish it because I liked so much of what the author was saying. I didn't enjoy any of the books she used in her "memoir in books", but that is not the point I think. The women she touched, the women whose lives she changed are what this book is about. And the biggest person changed in this book is Azar herself. I think by connecting with her students outside of the classroom, she found herself. She found so many things to like about her country, and to hate. I am really glad I read this book, and really glad to let it go.
Congratulations!! You have found a rare and unique gift, a travelling book!!
While it is possible I have read and given my thoughts on this book, it is more likely it is a book I found/purchased specifically to send out into the world! In either case, please read what has been said before, where has this book been, who enjoyed it, who didn't -- and perhaps, if you care to, you can add your two cents!
You do not have to join bookcrossing to pick up, enjoy, and journal a book -- however, if you do decide to join us, please consider using me (innae) as your recommending friend, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to drop me a personal message (for more info, check out the FAQ).
And again, thank you for saving this book from a life of boredom!

No one at work was interested, so this is back home.
A friend visited for New Year's Eve from Seattle - and he found a few books he wanted to take home to read - this one is travelling home with him, via Las Vegas.
