Book 2 in the series.
I continue to enjoy this tale of Sonea, a female magician in the making. This trilogy has been compared by some to the Harry Potter novels but the style is very different, being much more serious in tone and lacking the humour evidenced by such characters as the Weasley twins and some of the more eccentric teachers in the Potter novels. It also raises the subject of homosexuality and puts more emphasis on class distinction, prejudice, peer pressure and the underworld crime network.
