My original interest in this book comes from it's connection to Alice Sebold, an author whose other books I have enjoyed. Apparently it's a favorite childrens' story, but it's new to me. The story was very sweet and I did enjoy it, despite the "Yorkshire" language that some of the characters speak...I still have no idea what some of those things meant, but it's still quite a nice story.
