Johansen quickly became one of the authors in my list to look our for because she does the very genre that I enjoy reading about.

Caught this book from TARLIA at a BC meetup on February 23, 2003. This novel reminds me of Julie Garwood's Mercy - same style, same pace. The story begins slowly, introducing the protagonist, top forensic sculptor Eve Duncan, and several characters including the sadistic serial killer, before the cat-and-mouse game steadily builds tension between each characters. Things only heats up in the last two chapters. The interesting part of this story was the unique bond of Sarah Patrick and her cadaver dog, Monty.
