Final Confession of Mabel Stark
2 journalers for this copy...
A fascinating fictional account of the life of Mabel Stark, a famous tiger trainer with the Ringling Brothers' Circus in the 1930's. While many of the facts about her life are accurate, the voice of Mabel is brilliantly brought to life by the imagination of the author.
A movie based on the book (starring Kate Winslet) was apparently in the works, but I can't find any recent information about it.
This book was read by my (now defunct) book club several years ago and Robert Hough was a guest at the meeting where we discussed his book. He is not only a talented writer, but also a very nice guy.
