I am only a third of the way through this book, but so far it has been a very enjoyable read. It is light and humorous, sometimes making you laugh out loud.

I bought this book as I had just hitched to Ireland for charity and thought it was quite appropriate!

Journal Entry 2 by torksoul from Boston, Massachusetts USA on Tuesday, March 2, 2004
It's been a year since I bought this, and now I associate the hitching experience with a relationship which flourished as a result of it and is now dead, so I am very happy to part with this book.

to be traded with BookCrosser for Middlesex! Yay!

on its way to BookCrosser...

Journal Entry 4 by BookCrosser from Culemborg, Gelderland Netherlands on Wednesday, March 31, 2004
Thank you, torksoul, for sending me the book. I want to go to Ireland for a cycling holiday, perhaps this summer. I have never been to Ireland, I enjoy reading books set in Ireland or about travelling in Ireland.

Journal Entry 5 by BookCrosser from Culemborg, Gelderland Netherlands on Tuesday, April 6, 2004
Very pleasant book about a hitchhiking trip in Ireland. And about the fridge that came for the ride... Told with a some humour.

The book reached me today from Bookcrosser as RABCK.
That's a first for me. Thank you very much! I can't wait to start reading.
:-)

A really cute story about a man and his fridge. I liked it and laughed quite a bit. It made me wanna go to Ireland again (not necessarily with a fridge, though).

And because I got it as a RABCK (thanks again BookCrosser!), it goes out just the same way. It is on its way to Lisa-B. I hope you have fun with it!

Journal Entry 9 by Lisa-B on Monday, May 17, 2004
Thanks so much to all of you for forwarding this book on and on, and especially to samulli for finding it on my wishlist!

Journal Entry 10 by Lisa-B on Sunday, May 23, 2004
A nice and funny read. I like the "fridge philosphy" that you should not worry too much about what is going to happen, be happy about what works out, and filing what does not work out under "experiences".

Journal Entry 11 by Lisa-B on Thursday, May 27, 2004
I am continuing the tradition and RABCKing Round Ireland With A Fridge to mojitopt in Hamburg, who has it on his wish list. I hope you'll enjoy it too!

Journal Entry 12 by mojitopt on Monday, June 7, 2004
Found this book in my postbox upon my return from a business trip. Thanks to Lisa-B for sending this. I will be in Dublin in October so reading this might be a good preparation ...

Journal Entry 13 by mojitopt on Sunday, October 10, 2004
It was big fun to read this book. I really enjoyed his "well, let's see what happens" attitude and the description of his adventures on his way round the isle. Once again was I remembered that British English is so versatile and ideally suited for humour. Hawks surely is a Master using it ...

Journal Entry 17 by trygvasson from Hamburg - Hohenfelde, Hamburg Germany on Thursday, February 10, 2005
Ha! Caught it at the meetup - three of us were interested so I will pass it on.
I had some strange travelling companions - but up to now never anything remotely like a fridge.
I´m looking forward to this one.

Journal Entry 18 by trygvasson from Hamburg - Hohenfelde, Hamburg Germany on Sunday, February 13, 2005
Not just entertaining but also deeply instructive:
> There are more royal families than we know about and they are not that fussy about etiquette - apples are dealt out as royal favours.
> Irish pubs - a very good example of a market in the grip of seller´s competition.
> Liechtenstein doesn´t count among the world´s big soccer nations.
> Dog houses can be very cosy - with the right kind of illumination.

But one big question remains:
What happened to the widely travelled fridge?
From Tony Hawks website:
"It is in my front room on a plinth, much like a piece of sculpture. It has never been plugged in. It’s not that kind of fridge."
The poor thing must be bored out of its circuits...

The fridge finally found the way to Bremen ;-)
Thanks a lot!

Journal Entry 22 by aNorthernLight from Bremen, Bremen Germany on Friday, July 21, 2006
I really liked this book - yes, the fridge-philosophy is what it is all about... ;-)
Light hearted reading about a totally senseless idea - but a damn fine one!
For some reason though it does not really inspire me to go traveling to Ireland, I just dont't know... ;-)

Will release it soon to someone who expresses interest one way or the other...

Thanks a lot to everyone for making it possible for the fridge to travel my way!

Journal Entry 23 by rem_OIF-908819 on Tuesday, August 1, 2006
