"Clear-eyed and spirited, Taylor Greer grew up poor in rural Kentucky with the goals of avoiding pregnancy and getting away. But when she heads west with high hopes and a barely functional car, she meets the human condition head-on. By the time Taylor arrives in Tucson, Arizona, she has acquired a completely unexpected child, a three-year-old American Indian girl named Turtle, and must somehow come to terms with both motherhood and the necessity of putting down roots..."
I loved this book; it was excellent. My cover looks different.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
RELEASE NOTES:
I mailed this book today to haugtussa in Norway! Enjoy.
I mailed this book today to haugtussa in Norway! Enjoy.
Look what I found in the postbox today! I'm really looking forward to this one, as I loved The Poisonwood Bible. Thanks a lot rhythmbiscuit.
I really like Barbara Kingsolver's writing and this book was great. A touching story about a young woman, who ends up being the main ingredient in a child's life.
I also felt that the parts about illigal immigration was thought provoking. As it is stated in the book- just calling another human being 'illigal'. How can you actually do that?
The book also touches on other serious aspects in life, like loosing a child and I'd like to quote the book: "it's terrible to lose somebody," I said. "I mean, I don't know firsthand, but I can imagine it must ve. But it's also true that some people never have anybody to lose, and I think that's got to be so much worse."
Thanks a lot for sharing.
The book is offered as a bookray on the Scandinavian forum:
Vilda - Stockholm, Sverige
asa-swe - Karlstad, Sverige
babelfisk - Jönkjöping, Sverige
auroradormita - Søndre Omme, Danmark
Fremmedordbok - Bergen, Norge
The last participant is free to do what they want with the book, but I do hope you will let it keep on travelling.

I didn't get around to it too quickly, but now I've finally read it - and I just want to read it again!
I loved the writing style of Barbara Kingsolver. And I also loved the paradoxal feeling I got from the sometimes naive style combined with the tough reality of the characters in the book.
The book is available for now, until I decide what to do with it!

What a surprise! I realy didn't expect this to arrive. Thanks a lot, sarabe1. I'm looking forward to read it.
This book reached me long ago as the only one I received following the forwarding of a book-swap thing, I think.
It took me a long time to finally read it, and then again time to journal and release it...
But it was totally worth that I continued keeping it whenever I was clearing out my shelves again and again.
I really loved the book. To me it's a story about some really tough and still so kindhearted women, about the chosen family of friends, and here not only friends but also a child. The playing with rules and authorities was also really amusing I found. It is something I sometimes miss a bit... While it is nice to be globally connected and opens up a lot of chances and opportunities, it also leads to never really be just where we are at the moment.
And I'm wandering off the story plot.
Thank you for this great book. I hope it finds more interested readers...
