After struggling through the pretentious twaddle that was the last book I read, I felt in need of some junk food for the brain, and this fit the bill perfectly. An Australian with an impressive and unlikely list of skills (among her previous jobs are trapeze artist, truckie, and scuba instructor) meets a glamorous TV naturalist and follows him back to Britain. There she makes friends with a Sloane, and spectacularly fails to fit in to either the naturalist's world of intellectual dinner parties, or the friend's world of braying socialites. Plus there's the little matter that the naturalist "forgot" to mention his wife and kids. And then she gets pregnant.

Only one small step above Mills & Boon, really, but fun, and sometimes you just need something light and fluffy in your reading diet...
