Assistant DA Nina Frost prosecutes child molesters, and in the course of her everyday work she endures the frustration of seeing too many criminals slip through the system and walk free. So when she realises that her son Nathaniel has been sexually abused - and is so traumatised that he has stopped speaking - she takes justice into her own hands. Nina Frost may have killed the man who hurt her son, but has she destroyed her family in the process? And whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

I did think at first that Picoult was starting to overuse the device of starting with the ending of the story, then going back and building up to it, but of course I was wrong - she does much more interesting things. And even though some of the twists and turns were a bit obvious, they weren't always as obvious as I thought.
A great story, that held my interest to the end, even while I wasn't sure whether or not to feel sympathy for the protagonists.

I felt that she acted too quickly by shooting him without knowing for sure that he was the one that did it.
Interesting twist to bring in the other priest.
A good book overall, enjoyed reading another Jodi Picoult.
