I found this book to be very easy to read. Most of all I thoroughly enjoyed the historical facts explained; however, I felt that Scarlett's life did 'drag on' a bit, but enjoyed her many adventures. I was so pleased that Scarlett and Rhett did manage to meet up again. I would say this is more a 'woman's book' and would appeal more to women than men but, having said that, men would also enjoy the historical features. Alexandra Ripley certainly brought Ireland 'to life' for me and I could almost imagine myself being there, with Scarlett. I do so hope another reader will pick this book up to enjoy it as I have.
