From the Red Cross booksale in Timaru, bought specifically for bookcrossing.
This is one of the very few books that I've started reading but not been able to finish. Of course, that may be because I tried reading it when I was a teenager, and found the complexity of the history (and all those patronymics) too difficult. I keep meaning to give it another go, but it's *such* a big book... maybe one day, though...
